Fubuki is great in a way he is so perfectly…imperfect.
He’s good at almost everything, and loved by everyone (especially the laaaaaadiiiiiies), but it’s not without reason. Pre-FFI Fubuki had an unhealthy obsession with being perfect, to the point of breaking himself mentally and physically (though, I’m sure his family’s death also played a big part in his mentally unstable state). Someone as young as him fighting through such heavy trauma makes me just wanna hug him and BAWWW IT’LL BE OKAY BABY— but no, he learns to stand up and grow from his hardships, which makes him such an admirable character.
To be honest I liked Pre-FFI Fubuki more maybe because he was still so ‘imperfect’ at the time. FFI Fubuki was pretty…dull. But what am I supposed to expect when he’s grown out of his depressive rut ha ha… he’s clearly more confident and slightly more aggressive than he was before, but because he’s confident AND good at everything now, my interest in him eventually faded.
In the drama CDs that were set post aliea arc still made him out to be a pretty adorable character with his cheekiness. I think I really would have lost interest in him if he was this ‘I’m always nice to everyone ha ha ha+*+*+’ gary stu character, but seeing him being an ass to Kogure and arguing over goddamn ramen with Tsunami was pretty cute.
