I’m pretty indifferent towards Hiroto. He was quite cool at first, and I was pretty pleased to see him reappear in FFI…. and then I got annoyed over how much screen time he got as he seemed so irrelevant in terms of character development, yet compared to most characters he was…EVERYWHERE.
I just don’t find him very interesting unless if I see him with his family. Especially when he takes on an older brother role, like when he was encouraging Midorikawa and camping out with Kogure. (I have a weakness for older brother characters…)
He seems like a kid everyone would be able to get along with, in which I suspect is a result of growing up with all the children at the orphanage. Sometimes I wonder if he had a hard time with the other children, seeing as his father may have favoured him over the others, the reason being he resembled his father’s first son. Being cautious of this, he may have tried his best to get along with everyone. He also exhibits traits of being very attentive of others, which allows him to hold out a hand to anyone in need. His kindness, I believe, is most likely born from the kindness he received from his adoptive father.
I’m not entirely sure of where his flaws lie (other than being misguided in Aliea arc but), that’s probably why this character remains pretty bland to me.
