tankaze asked: Uhh Tenma? ;o;
I adore Tenma ; v ; and in many ways, I’m rather envious of him. He’s the type everyone would love as a kouhai, yet he’s also one you can learn a lot from.
I’m afraid of people disliking Tenma simply because he keeps being so good at everything.. at first I raised brows too when he was pretty much ‘godmodding’ all over the place, but thinking back on it… it’s not like he was always talented (remember, he didn’t make it into the team during primary school). When don’t we see him training his ass off? When is he not thinking about soccer? He’s a complete maniac for the sport. I think it would be more unfair for him to be so devoted and passionate about a sport and not be good at it. Along with his efforts comes his gung-ho personality. His trademark ‘nantoka naru sa!’ attitude isn’t just taking things as it is, it’s also a determination of overcoming whatever challenges that may come his way. This kind of perseverance and his diligence allows him to become this all-round player for the team.
He’s not completely perfect either. While he may be very able as a general player, I doubt he would be able to take on the role as tactician. He makes use of his skills to take on obstacles in the stadiums here and there, but he’s not one to be able to pull the team together through elaborate strategy like Shindou. Neither is he particularly a strong tank like Kurumada/Amagi. He’s also noticeably a bit naive, but that kind of pure spirit is exactly what the team needs in order to stand up against the corruption that is Fifth Sector, and it’s a refreshing change from most of the characters who all try to be too ‘adult-like’.
