dragonis asked: Tsurugi~
My initial interest in Tsurugi was (as usual) very superficial. I liked his design from the get-go and I was already pretty much willing to accept whatever kind of personality he had. I’m pretty glad he wasn’t just some sadistic villain, because boy do I have soft spots for tough yet kind-hearted characters.
Before the series delved into his background, I was interested in how emotionally driven he seemed in the first few episodes, getting so irritated over Tenma’s happy-go-lucky attitude towards soccer. While he was an extremely strong and confident opponent, it was interesting to actually see what an emotionally unstable kid he was, thus again reminding us he’s just a 12 year old, unable to control his frustration at his hopelessness in face of his personal issues.
I think the fact with ‘cool’ characters like Tsurugi, it’s really easy to find everything he does as an endearing point. He’s always in the background not actively involving himself, so when he so as much exchanges a smile at anyone, I can’t help but feel there’s something more meaningful and special behind that seeing as he’s not one to express himself openly.
I don’t think I can put my love for his character in words any better than what Nata has wrote so I’ll link this again:
